This course is asynchronous - you will have access to the included modules and can learn at your own pace with the flexibility to complete modules on your own time. American Sign Language for Special Education is a single live course with access to additional online materials that teaches an introduction to basic ASL signs through a vigorous curriculum designed for special education staff. This is the ideal course for a teacher, support staff, related service provider, or administrator who wants to add ASL into the classroom or who works with students who utilize ASL signs in the special education field. This course covers the following topics: - Basic needs - Basic requests/commands - Basic preferences and activities - and more! This course is not intended to prepare individuals for the interpreting field nor is the program goal to provide degrees or transcripts for courses. Students who complete this course will receive a certificate of completion should they successfully meet the requirements of the course.
